Ingram Library Services and Backstage Library Works Team up to Deliver Comprehensive Shelf-Ready Processing for Libraries

NASHVILLE, Tenn. & PROVO, Utah, January 16, 2026 — Ingram Library Services (“ILS”), a division of Ingram Content Group, announces a partnership with Backstage Library Works to deliver additional fully integrated shelf-ready processing solutions. This collaboration brings together Ingram’s industry leading supply chain, expansive title availability, and deep library expertise with Backstage’s renowned cataloging and metadata services—creating a seamless, end-to-end workflow with greater customization that gets materials to libraries faster.

“Ingram Library Services is committed to helping libraries operate with confidence and efficiency,” said Carolyn Morris, Vice President of Library Services at Ingram Content Group. “Partnering with Backstage allows us to expand our own cataloging and processing services to offer libraries additional choices for true end-to-end workflow solutions that meet the needs of today’s libraries.”

Through the new shelf-ready service, libraries with highly customized specifications can receive materials that are fully cataloged, processed, and ready to circulate upon arrival. Ingram ships purchased items directly to Backstage, where they are inventoried, assigned MARC records and local holdings, and completed with physical processing such as covering, labeling, stamping, and tagging. Finished materials are then shipped to a central location or directly to branches.

“Backstage has always been honored to support libraries in their pursuit of accessible information and the preservation of our shared history,” said Nate Cothran, President of Backstage Library Works. “This partnership with Ingram strengthens that mission by integrating our services into a scalable, efficient workflow.”

By uniting Ingram’s operational scale with Backstage’s specialized expertise, the partnership provides libraries with a streamlined solution that reduces staff workload, shortens time to shelf, and supports evolving operational demands.
