Backstage Library Works Presents

Mark your calendar for November 8, 2017, and join us in Austin for Hidden Collections, a free, one-day seminar for library leaders and special collections professionals. If you work with archival materials, digital images, microfilm, or metadata, this event is for you.

The Topic:

Special collections are kept from public display to protect unique items and fragile materials. But donors, patrons, researchers — and let's not forget librarians and archivists — want these hidden collections to be found, seen, and used.

Rising to the challenge, librarians at leading institutions are tackling discovery, access, and preservation in creative ways. We've invited a few to discuss their favorite projects and future plans.

The day's lineup will include presentations and roundtable discussions covering digitization projects and processes, metadata, and public outreach. We'll have speakers from The University of Texas at Austin, Stephen F. Austin State University, and Backstage Library Works.

We hope you'll join us.
