Controller

Provo, Utah

The Controller is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting financial processes and reporting that informs and helps management run the company. This position reports to the President and Chairman and is an essential part of the company’s leadership team.

Backstage maintains approximately 150 employees in two US offices and various remote operations. Teams or individuals are sometimes employed in Canada, the United Kingdom, and other countries. Accounting is handled by a team of three people, including the Controller.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Monthly financial closings and reporting.
  • Oversee healthcare program and perform other HR–type functions.
  • Manage cash, AR, AP. Create monthly journal entries.
  • Analyze financial performance and trends.
  • Maintain bank relationships.
  • Supervise accounting staff and oversee payroll, invoicing, employee expenses, and all other functions not directly performed.
  • Manage company productivity reporting tools.
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual financial statements and tax return with outside CPA firm.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget and monthly forecast updates.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Intelligent, detail-oriented, quality-focused, organized.
  • Great customer service.
  • Must be able to meet multiple deadlines and respond to a wide variety of needs and duties very capably.
  • Relevant education and experience, including Microsoft Office applications and QuickBooks.
  • CPA preferred.

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary from $60,000, DOE.
  • This is a full-time, fully benefited position, including health, dental and vision insurance, holidays and PTO, profit sharing, and 401K.
